How does GLP-3RT work?
GLP-3RT is studied as an agonist at the GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors. GLP-1 is a hormone secreted by intestinal L-cells in response to nutrient ingestion. In receptor and cell-based studies, activation of the GLP-1 receptor stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic beta-cells while inhibiting glucagon secretion from pancreatic alpha-cells; these actions have been examined in in-vitro and preclinical studies of glucose homeostasis. GLP-1 receptors are also expressed in the hypothalamus, and published work has measured body-weight endpoints.
Preclinical studies have also examined effects on immune cell function and pro-inflammatory cytokine production in models of metabolic inflammation.
Handling & Safety
Handle as a laboratory research chemical of unknown hazard. Use gloves and eye protection, avoid inhalation of the lyophilized powder, and follow standard laboratory handling procedures.
Reconstitute and store according to the product label. Lyophilized material should be kept cool, dry and protected from light; reconstituted material should be held at 2-8°C and protected from light.
The safety profile of GLP-3RT has not been established. This compound is supplied for laboratory research use only and is not approved for human or veterinary use.
Summary
GLP-3RT is a research peptide studied as an agonist at the GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors. Published in-vitro and preclinical work has examined receptor activation, glucose homeostasis, body-weight and inflammatory endpoints in laboratory models, and the compound has been characterized as having enhanced stability and a prolonged half-life. GLP-3RT remains a compound under investigation in receptor-signalling and metabolic research models.
